Okay, this is experimental, but should we try to create some system so that we can spit out comics better?

I think it should go something like how a T.V. show works like we could throw out idea's for story lines involving which characters (Could have multiple story lines going at once, so all the characters are in the comic) Then who's ever's characters are in that story line could help work out what would happen and how their characters would react.

of course others can help out even if their character isn't in the story line.

Then who ever wants to volunteer to draw whatever page or the whole story line could draw it up, or if multiple people want to do it they could split up the pages or sections or whatever. They could even have one person do backround while the others does characters or whatever.

These are just my ideas.

Double Post

Oh yeah I think we should start this after everyones had thier introductions. I think we only have micheal left? Or was there one more?
So If we could we should stay on the first night until the intros are done and we can start story lines for the next day.

Of course we can start coming up with that now.

Anyone have any ideas?
I think the next night Yami should treat her newly founded crew to dinner and maybe a night on the town to try to create companionship or something.

And

What's going through every characters minds at the moment? Like what do they think of the situation at the moment.

Thats a good idea, though she would not cook. Um...here some ideas.

1. A rival owner of her father goes to Yami's resturant to disgrace it. Yami takes a stand and figure out her father's crew now works for him. Then Yami bet that her new crew can defeat his crew. Yami gets foolish and bets her resturant. I have an idea that the crew loses and Yami in shock losing her only membory of her father. Maybe the crew get dispoint in her but a little guilty cause they were not cooking as one as Rivals were.

2. After losing the challenage, Yami only choice to call her mother who she hates. Her mother picks her up in her limo so Yami can work at her mother's hot spring. Yami ask that her friends could come with her. Her mother grumble a bit but she let them come. While Yami works sadly at the hot spring her friends work at the small kitchen making the food for guest staying there. They decide to make things interesting to the menus since they were so tastless. Also decorating the small dining room which Yami's mother disprove but Yami gave her first smile after her lose of her father resturant.(Later on the series when Yami and the gang challange the rival to get back the shop)

lol I think it'd be pretty funny if they lost the restuarant right away.

and when I said that yami would treat them to dinner I meant going out to eat at a different restaurant becuase I don't think any restaurant owner would make their own staff cook lol.

Also I finished my intro all inked and stuff, but the comics seem to be down on smack jeeves. Seems to happening a lot lately.

So it seems like it should go like this.
Act 1: The First Night/ The intros
Act 2: The next night/ Getting treated to dinner - Getting know the characters more and how they interact with each other.
Act 3: Some trouble between the staff on regular nights then the challenge.

That sounding like the structure a bit?

Oh yeah Someone should promote this comic out a bit like on webcomiclist.com and in the forums of smack jeeves. Also Maybe someone should also PM people to tell them to use this forum.

Also to see who needs to do their intros

Haha, losing the restuarant right away...that's a great idea.  XD  However, when it comes to everyone posting comics I think we should avoid making a list where everyone takes turns.

I've been in collabs like this and I've found that they feel dead most of the time and don't really go anywhere because everyone posts at different rates.  So it could be weeks before someone realizes it's their turn while others take a couple hours for their post...ect...

yeah we shouldnt do turns. and i guess we dont have to wait for everyone to do their intros.

But I definately think we as a team should write up story lines and how it would go.

Well, I think that there was a good idea put foreward with the restuarant competition. What I think should be a good idea relating to that is in these steps.

1. Characters introduce themselves, have a greet and little mingle.

2. Yami, out of generosity, decides that the best place to get to know each other well is to go somewhere nice to eat, so they all go out to a restuarant.

3. When they're there, they order their food, and Yami leaves to go to the toilet and by chance, sees one of the cooks, who just happened to be one of her father's before he died.

4. She gets angry at him and argues against him about (not sure yet) and then he decides to settle the dispute by a Restuarant competition (not sure about the prize though). (Maybe the cook could have been promoted to head chef or something)

5. The night continues on and the next morning, Yami realises what she's done and tells all the employees.

6. The competition is over a three month period for a best out of three win with each month's total income as the score.

7. First month is a disaster and everyone is disheartened, particularly Yami. She goes of crying and no one sees her for a bit, that's when they have a serious discussion, and start to get better at resolving the problem.

8. Second month is a dramatic improvement, and Grand Arts Restuarant beats the rival one, just.

9. This time here could be where tension starts to pile, and relations start to flourish, as now everyone is working more together. Anything from bribes to family trauma can happen at this point and cause problems which can create tension.

10. Third month, a special offer comes out to the public which makes a lot of customers want to go to a third restuarant in town, making competition tight for both of the competing restuarants.

11. Grand Arts wins, and the whole group is a much more closely knit group, and even gaining relationships with the other restuarant. Then onto our next exciting part!

I think there's humor in losing the resturant right away. But it would have to be a quick loss meaning like a quick montage or something for it to really have a comedic effect i think.

Not saying your layout is bad werer, but I'm personally not a fan of the plot.

That's alright, it's only a 5 minute thought of suggestion. It's also very vague, so lots of things can be changed, like we might lose in the third round but could still be hired by the opposing restuarant or something like that.

I like it but I'm not sure about the rival hiring them if they win Yami's shop. The rival hates Yami's father and hates every about him. Maybe we can lose the shop and after a couple month after in her mother' hot spring kitchen they decide to do another competition.

Maybe to your steps with the second comipetion to win the shop back.

So I think everyone has their introductions up. Just a heads up. Not sure what happens next.

Edit: Also I just added Grand Arts Resturant to the webcomic list.

I think everyone should get settled down first then the next night would be the dinner out.

I think this should probably be discussed by splitting up between girls and boys becuase they'll be seperating in the rooms calling beds and talking to each other while they like unpack or whatever. Also is there a shower or is it just the spa thing?

Edit: Oh... And I just realized that half of the characters havn't even ask for the job or even knows that they're going to live there lol. I think a lot of the next interaction would probably be with yami maybe.

Or once we ask for the job she could just round us all up and tell us what the deal is and not even really interview us.

Actually... Individual interviews could be a really good way to get to know the characters more through the comic and pretty easy to make the interviews humorous (like if you ever saw step brothers).

Dark demon I think you should start prepping some interview questions.

LOL. It's still the same night as when Tory showed up, isn't it? Imagine that, every single position in one night....Actually, in the first page I posted, I think I made the time past midnight or something-- so maybe we should end this first day soon, no?

Who wants to end it?

ALSO~!

I kind of like the idea of going out to eat the next night and using that to lead into a whole new storyline, but what about the day in between now and then? The way I'm seeing it now, the rest of this "night" will go something like this:

Everybody is aquainted, we separate-- check out the restaurant premises, bedrooms, baths, etc. (I've got a comic with Jade and Hyde lined up, scanning it tonight.)

The next morning: Our true natures are revealed! Is Tara truly an angry Lucas-chaser, or was she just tired after a long day of job searching? What are Help and Rei like after a good night's sleep? Honestly-- is your character a morning glory or a night owl? I know that my character's half comatose when she wakes up.

During the day: we get official interviews (maybe), clean up the dining area, set up, order the food we need (in bulk! we're a business-- also, a funny scene-- all the food arriving), spiff up the place, practice our positions(learn what tables you're serving, aquaint yourself with the kitchen), and all that good stuff. There's a lot of potential for this part. Spacey waiters, hyper chefs with cleavers as their best friends....jah. This'd be shown with short, one-page storylines. Y'know, just kind of glimpsing around. After some filler-like comics from everybody showing us progressing through all this, we could go to:

When we dine. <3

Yeah, so far that seems like a pretty good idea, since I definetly don't have any other ideas-and if I did it wouldn't take that long to forget, probably just a couple of secs after I get one

Lol I know how you feel twilight star. i try to write down my ideas as quick as i can so i don't forget. And Yeah I like where your getting at Hyde.

Help's a night owl for sure, pretty dead in the morning. At the moment he's been going through a phase that's been lasting through out the summer of not being able to go to bed until at least after 3 o clock in the morning. So I don't know how long we'll stay on this night. But I think getting unpacked and choosing beds is definately something we need to do before this night is rapped up.

Interviews can go tonight or tomorrow doesn't really matter to me. I just think you can have some pretty humorous interviews.

I know, right?   Laughing  Someone will probably end up drawing a majestic Sunrise Scene like 20 comics from now...seriously-- we're almost at 60 comics and yet it's just past midnight. I wish real life was like that. XD It'll be a Majestic Sunrise, right after all us Employees have gone to wherever, and there'll be a close-up of Yami having a Monologue Moment alone in the doorway thinking something like, "Are you watching, Father? Are you proud?" Very Happy Yeah. Prolly something like that. And you can't forget the Mysterious Wind That Comes From Nowhere! It has to be doing its part as well.

Draaaaamaaa.

Lol so much drama haha. I like how there's not even too much drama yet, but we'll just have that one so cliche drama part. We'll figure out later who wants to draw it when we actually get to that point :p

Yeah Do you guys like the character profile idea? I just posted mine up I think it provides some information of what Help's into, but not too much into his backround and personality... yet...

It seems pretty helpful...If I were to do mine though, it'd be a bit complicated and hard to describe-having ever-shifting personalities isn't that easy(has personal experience)but I could at least try a way to do mine, but it is rather useful on personalities and reactions

Alright guys I say it's time to move onto getting settled down. If anyone has any objections, like they have a comic they want to do with what's going on now. Then say so. Cause we're like a lot pages deep into just like everyone walking in and that's it.

I'd like to move the story along a bit, but I don't mind if people still have a few comics they want to crank out.

So who wants to move on and who wants to wait it out just a bit longer?

Edit: I think we should at least start discussing what's going to happen when everyone chooses what beds they're getting, so I think everyone who has a male character should get in one group and everyone who has a female character get in a different group and discuss what would happen.

Well Tory could start the male group getting together, and Yami the female group, but first something has to get Yami down from the spa to explain things, then she could ask Tory to do the male grouping, and she lead them to their rooms. Then what happens the next day? Yami might have to explain that too.

Yeah Yami has to explain some things, but I meant us as the authors have to get together and discuss what's going to go down when people chooses beds. So like me, you, soul gunner, lemur tail, and bunnyofdoom, get together and write the pages together. While the others write what happens to the girls.

I have a comic all ready that I'm honestly trying my damnedest to post having to do with beds. It's a race and a battle between Hyde and Jade, and I think that would lead everybody up to the rooms, or at least those who would be wondering what the hell just happened.

I figure that one of us will grab that OMFG Floorplans! thing from whoever had it last-- I think Kitty dropped when she ran to the bath-- and see the where the rooms are. It'll be similiar to  http://grandartsresturant.smackjeeves.com/comics/448759/hot-spring/ except that instead of zeroing in on the spa it'd focus on bedrooms.

I drew Yami with a very minor appearance in the last panel, so what I think happened is that she was returning to the bedroom in time to feel the wind from Hyde + Jade sprinting past.

I'm so sorry. >_< I really want to post it, but lately everybody I know that has a scanner-- their scanners have died. We have some kind of epidemic on our hands! D: If I can get my hands on a camera I'll try to get a good photo of it, but I can't post anything ATM, though I have like 5 things to put up...And some of them would really move things forward, too...*sigh*
